From a young age, our children have been aware of the privilege they have been born with and have developed a keen interest in wanting to positively help those that might not be afforded the same privileges.

We moved from Hong Kong to India a year ago and carried with so many cartons of unused gifts that the kids and us had received from numerous occasions- birthdays, visits from family etc. While it is easy to say - “No gifts, please”, the simple fact is that people enjoy the act of receiving a gift, even though they may not use the gift later. The best solution then would be to pool the gifts such that one can get a nice gift for oneself that one wants, while pledging a portion of the gift contribution to a charitable cause helping others get gifts – thus compounding the joy of receiving and giving gifts. Twowishes drew inspiration from Hong Kong based two presents, a platform we had used for an earlier birthday party for the kids.
